One day workshop on the topic Qualitative and Quantitative Improvement in Higher Education: Status and Direction was held at Government Larangsai Agrani Mahavidyalaya, Ramanujganj, District Balrampur Ramanujganj, Chhattisgarh, on July 6, 2015.
The workshop was held in coordination of Dr. A.K. Dwivedi, In-charge of Rashtriya Uchchtar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA). It was organised with the directives of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, and Department of Higher Education, Chhattisgarh Government. Principals and RUSA in-charges of all degree and postgraduate colleges and principals of higher secondary schools in the district participated in the workshop.
Major objectives of the workshop included motivating students for regular higher studies, bringing awareness among youth, making education employment oriented, searching newer probabilities in higher education, promotion of quality education, development of skilled youth leadership, awareness about education in the society, solution of practical problems in educational institutions, etc.
The programme was divided into two technical sessions. In the first session representatives of all eight government degree and postgraduate colleges presented reports and highlighted the problems they faced. In the second session specialists made presentations.
Prof. Mukesh Kumar Pandey presented practical solutions to the problems occurring in higher education in Balrampur Ramanujganj district. Prof. Manharan Anant dealt in detail with ‘document maintenance’ in educational institutions. Dr. P.P. Singh from Balrampur Mahavidyalaya held detailed discussion on new dimensions of qualitative education.
The programme was chaired by the college Principal Dr. R.S. Agrawal. The Chief Guest of the programme was the Nagar Panchayat Chairperson, Mr. Raman Agrawal, and Special Guests were Dr. P.R. Kosariya and Dr. P.P. Singh. Sports Officer, Mr. Ullas Bhurangi, Prof. Sushil Tiwari, Prof. Augustine Kujur, Prof. Praveen Jain and Prof. S.K. Khandekar contributed immensely to make the programme successful. The programme was compered by Prof. Lokmani Yadav and thanks were given by Dr. A.K. Dwivedi.
